Algeria - Apply for Termination of Residency Permit (CCR)

ProcedureEdit

The CCR has been established in order to enable Algerian expatriates planning to return home for good, to take back their personal belongings, including a new car, without paying custom duties and other taxes. Personal belongings include the whole family personal effects.
How to apply:

Applicant’s should gather all the required documents and visit the Algerian consulate or embassy in their current foreign residential country.
Application and inventory forms can be obtained from the Embassy or consulate service desk or can be downloaded from the Algeria embassy or consulate website.
Accurately fill out the forms and attach all the requirements and submit them to the attending official
If all the information is in order and upon payment of the application fees you will be issued with the CCR within 7 to 10 working days.

Note:

Applicants should not have benefit from the CCR programme before.

Accurately filled and signed CCR application form
Accurately filled inventory from of personal belongs
2 copies of Original of the consular registration card
Copy of the first two pages of your Algerian passport
Copy of legal and valid residency of the foreign country
2 copies of Vehicle registration documents, issued on the name of the applicant (if applicable)
2 Copies of Manufacturing’s certificate of origin (if applicable)
2 Copies of Origin invoice for the car(if applicable)
Proof of activities such as employment verification letter or enrolment verification letter for students or trainees
Proof of payment of the Stamp duty fee
Any other dossiers that the embassy may see fit

EligibilityEdit

The CCR is granted once only to the head of the familyliving abroad and wish to return to Algeria with their belongs (spouse and minor under 19 years are not entitled to have it)

FeesEdit

Stamp duty fees varies in every embassy

ValidityEdit

Validity for six (06) months from the date of issuance and cannot be extended without the approval of Algerian Customs (Direction Générale des Douanes).
To seek re-registration if time elapse,applicant must wait six (06) months and must provide a first registration file

InstructionsEdit

Applicant must be registered at the Embassy since three (03) years minimum;
Applicant must provide documents which show three (03) years of legal and uninterrupted residence in the consular constituency of the Embassy.
The presence of the applicant at the Embassy is compulsory for lodging his application and collecting the document.
Applicant must not have benefited already from a transfer of residency.
Any excess of the amount authorized shall be subject to payment of duties and taxes;
Recreational and fishing boats, pleasure crafts, zodiac boats are not allowed under CCR and cannot be added to the CCR Inventory. Applicants assume full and entire responsibility in this regard;
The beneficiary of the CCR must pay stamp duties, the amount of which is calculated on the basis of the total amount of the inventory provided with the file.
The copies of the required documents, the inventory as well as the declaration on honour must be legalized at the Embassy
Power of Attorney or Proxy cannot be issued in the context of a. The Algerian Customs insists that the presence of the holder of the CCR is compulsory to carry out customs procedures. Embassies and Consulates are not allowed to issue any Power of Attorney to be used in this context.

Total value of the CCR:

The total amount of the value of the personal belongings, including a new car, allowed on the occasion of a transfer of residency (CCR) has been determined by the Finance Law for 2020 as follows (Article 122 of the law Nº 19-14 dated 11 December 2019 published in the Official Gazette Nº 81 dated 30 December 2019).

Four (04) million Algerian Dinars (4 000 000 DZD) for students and the trainees.
Five (05) million Algerian Dinars (5 000 000 DZD) for other citizens.

Vehicle Specification:

New vehicle (voituretouristique) and whose engine size must not exceed 2000 cm3 (for Petrol model) or 2500 cm3 (for Diesel model).
New Light Commercial Vehicle (véhiculeutilitaireneuf) whose total weight (Poids total en charge) must not exceed 5.950 tons.
Two-wheel vehicle subject to registration (Motor Bike).
