Algeria - Apply for Certificate and Residence Card

How to apply :

  1. Applicant should visit the municipality at your place of residences with all the requirements
  2. Approach the service desk and request for assistance for your application verbally, submit the requirements copies to the attending official
  3. The registrar will take care of transcribing all the necessary information such as "first name, last name, degree of relationship" on the residence form is countersigned by the host
  4. Wait for a while as the process continues and you will be issued with a residence form(residence card)

NOTE: The residence certificate is issued in three cases:

  • National Identity Card CNI request
  • Passport request
  • Creation of a political party.

It will include, as appropriate, the mention of its destination:

  • Valid only for the national identity card
  • Valid only for travel passport
  • Valid only for the declaration of creation of a political part.

If you are not applying the certificate for the mentioned cases, the certificate is replaced by the residence form upon presentation of a the below supporting document

Required DocumentsEdit

  • Copy of the title of owner in force,
  • Rental contract or the last rent receipt,
  • Assignment copy for official or service accommodation,
  • Latest receipt from SONELGAZ services,
  • Latest receipt from the WATER and TELEPHONE services,
  • Voter's card,
  • Accommodation certificate,
  • Other official document justifying the occupation of housing.

The period of validity is one year (01) from the date of signature for the certificate of residence, and three (03) months for the residence card.
