How to apply:
In-Person :

  1. Applicant should visit the Algeria embassy or consulate in the foreign host country with all the required and approach the services desk
  2. Renewal Application forms can be obtained or downloaded from different Algeria embassy or consulate worldwide
  3. Accurately fill in the application form and attach all the required documents and submit them to the register in the embassy
  4. Upon which you will be issued with the consular registration card immediately

By post :

  1. Applicant should first consult by contracting the Algeria embassy or consulate in the foreign host country, and inquire if you can apply via post, If so
  2. Download the Renewal application from the embassy website and accurately fill it out, attach all the required documents and post it to the embassy address

Note :

  • Prepaid turn envelop must be certified mail with a tracking number
  • Name of the applicant must appear as SENDER and RECEIVER of the mail on the air bill
  • Applicant should request details from the embassy on recommended mail service company that are convenient for the application process
  • Apply by mail is optional that is offered by the Consulate General, thus the embassy will not be held liable for lost, damage or delay caused by the shipping carriers

Required DocumentsEdit

  • Expired Consular Registration Card
  • Accurately filled and signed application form
  • Two (2) standard passport-size photos. Photos must be recent, frontal-view, of the same batch, untouched, taken on white background and showing applicant wearing no glasses of any kind, except for prescription eyewear. Please write first and last names of applicant in pencil on back of photos
  • Notarized copy of a document showing the legal presence in the country.
  • Statement of employment or school registration
  • Self-addressed stamped envelope
  • Any other document that the embassy may see fit

  • If the application was made by post, the processing time will take up to 5 working days, otherwise it can be processed on the same day if the applicant visits the consulate in person.

  • Please note that the documents needed for the renewal of the consular registration are the same as for the first one. However, and in order to make things easier, some documents will not be requested, such as the birth certificate (unless there is a change in the applicant's situation).

Citizens who fail to renew their registration card with the embassy or consulate will have their names removed from the consular register and from the electoral roll, if they don’t renew their registration within 10 years. Thus will be required to reapply for a new registration card with the consulate
