Apply In-Person

1. To apply for Prepaid Contracting Business Licence, the applicant will need to approach Service Alberta. Use the following contact Link
2. The applicant has to download the application form from the following Link
3. Fill out the application form with all the relevant details.
4. The applicant will need to pay fees as per the authority's request.
5. The applicant will also need to provide information on their business, a criminal record check or police information check, security, a copy of standard contracts or agreements.
6. Submit the application form in-person at the nearest Service Alberta centre. Click on the following link to find the nearest centre Link
7. Once the authorities have approved the application form, the applicant shall receive their permit by mail within a few weeks from submitting the application.

• The business must provide an identification card for persons selling on its behalf. The identification card must have:
  • the person’s name
  • the business name, address and licence number
  • must be signed by the signing authority appointed by the business
• A copy of standard contracts or agreements

Eligibility

• The applicant must be 18 years of age or above.
• The applicant’s job must include contracts are for construction, maintenance, repairing, altering, adding to or improving private dwellings, or real property used in conjunction with a private dwelling such as landscaping services.

Fees

• The applicant may need to pay the fees as per the authority's request.

Validity

• The applicant can choose how long they want the permit to be valid.
• The expiry date will be mentioned on the license.

Instructions

• Within 15 days of ceasing all activities, the applicant will need to notify Service Alberta.
