Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for Potato Dealer license in person, the applicant has to visit the office of Potato Growers of Alberta Commission.
  2. Address and contact details of the Commission can be found below Contact link
  3. The applicant has to visit the office of the Potato Growers of Alberta Commission and obtain an application form for Potato Dealer License from the respective department.
  4. While visiting the office, the applicant has to bring all the necessary documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. The applicant has to complete the license application form with the relevant details and information in the respective fields.
  6. After completing the application form, attach all the required documents with the completed application form.
  7. Then, submit the application form and attached documents to the relevant official at the Commission’s office.
  8. The applicant will also have to pay the required fees for processing and licensing by following the instructions given by the official in-charge.
  9. Upon submission of application and payment of required fees, the application will be forwarded for further processing.
  10. During processing, the Commission may require additional information about the business from the applicant.
  11. The applicant has to co-operate with the Commission throughout the processing of the application.
  12. On completion of processing, the applicant will be informed through email or text message or phone call, when the license is ready.
  13. The applicant can receive the license through any applicable means or as intimated by the Commission.

  • The applicant should make sure that the application contains all the information as required by the Potatoes Growers of Alberta Commission, in order to avoid delays in application processing.
  • If the applicant fails to provide information or additional information required by the Commission, the Commission will reject their application and refuse to issue the license.

Need for the DocumentEdit

In order to legally involve in the potato dealership business inside Canada, a company or business entity must possess a Potato Dealer License obtained from the Potato Growers of Alberta Commission.


Information which might helpEdit

  • If the licensed dealer violates the Act, the Plan, the Regulation or any other regulation made under the corresponding act or plan or any order or direction of the Commission during the utilization, the Commission shall cancel the issued license.
  • The licensed dealer, who buys or receives potatoes from a licensed producer, must deduct the applicable service charge from the purchase price.
  • If a dealer or processor who buys or receives potatoes from a licensed producer fails to deduct the service charge as required, the licensed producer and the dealer or processor are jointly and severally liable to the Commission for damages in an amount equal to the service charge which should have been deducted.
