Apply In Person

  1. To Apply for Human Resources Professional License, the applicant has to approach the CPHR Canada link HRPA Human Resources Professionals Association link
  2. Ensure that the applicant meets the educational requirements specified by the HR association or regulatory body. This may involve having a degree or diploma in a related field, such as Human Resources, Business Administration, or a similar discipline.
  3. Acquire the necessary HR work experience as outlined by the HR association or regulatory body.
  4. The specific requirements may vary, but it typically involves a minimum number of years of professional HR experience, often in a managerial or strategic role.
  5. Participate in ongoing professional development activities to enhance the applicant’s HR knowledge and skills. This may include attending workshops, conferences, seminars, or completing specific HR courses.
  6. Join the provincial HR association or regulatory body offering the CPHR designation by becoming a member. Membership usually involves paying an annual fee and abiding by the association's code of ethics and professional conduct.
  7. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
  8. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
  9. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  10. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
  11. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
  12. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
  13. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
  14. An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference.
  15. The regulatory body will conduct a background check, which may include a review of the applicant’s criminal record and any past disciplinary actions.
  16. Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
  17. Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
  18. Once the applicant has obtained the CPHR designation, he/she will need to engage in ongoing professional development activities to maintain his/her certification. This typically involves completing a specific number of continuing professional development (CPD) hours each year.
  19. This entire process can be completed within 15 - 20 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

EligibilityEdit

To be eligible to apply for a Human Resources Professional (CHRP) license in Canada, the applicant must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
  • Have a bachelor's degree in human resources management or a related field.
  • Have at least two years of full-time professional experience in human resources.
  • Pass the CHRP exam.
