Apply In Person:

  1. To Apply for Appraiser License, the applicant has to approach the Canadian Real Estate Association link
  2. Many licensing bodies require candidates to complete a specified number of hours of supervised work experience under a qualified appraiser.
  3. This requirement helps the applicant to develop the necessary skills and knowledge in the appraisal field. The duration of the required experience can vary, so check the specific guidelines provided by the regulatory body.
  4. Prepare for and successfully pass any required examinations. These exams are designed to assess the applicant’s knowledge and competence in appraisal principles and practices.
  5. The regulatory body or association will provide information about the exam format, study materials, and passing requirements.
  6. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
  7. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
  8. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  9. The applicant has to attach photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting it.
  10. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
  11. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
  12. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
  13. Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
  14. Once the applicant obtains his/her appraiser license, the applicant may be required to participate in ongoing professional development activities to maintain his/her license.
  15. This can include attending workshops, and seminars, or completing specific courses to stay updated on appraisal standards and practices.
  16. This entire process can be completed within 15 – 20 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
