Apply In Person

  1. To obtain Registered Crab Receiver (RCR) Permit or License, the applicant has to approach the NOAA Fisheries Service link
  2. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer or the applicant has to download the form from the following link
  3. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form.
  4. The Applicant should make sure to carry all the documents that are mentioned under the “Required Documents” section of this page (Both photocopies and originals).
  5. Applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the form and attach the photocopies of the documents that are needed along with the application form before submitting.
  6. The fee for this procedure has to be paid as per authority’s request.
  7. Concerned authorities will look into the application form and the submitted document.
  8. Once the process is completed, the applicant gets the notification through mail to get the license.
  9. The license will be issued to the applicant by visiting the office within 15 – 30 days.


NOTE:

  • The applicant can contact their nearby field offices to submit the application given in the “Office Location & Contacts” section of this page.
  • This application cannot be processed or approved unless applicant has met all the requirements and conditions of the CR Program, including (as appropriate)

  1. To obtain Registered Crab Receiver (RCR) Permit or License, the applicant can apply online through this following link
  2. The applicant has to enter all the information in the link page and select the type of permit (New registration or for renewal)
  3. Check the fee details in the respective page and make a payment online.
  4. If the applicant has any issue in payment using card the applicant can use billing address mode.
  5. After completing all the process re-check all the given details and click the “Submit” button.
  6. Concerned authorities will look into the application form and the submitted document.
  7. Once the process is completed, the applicant gets the notification through mail to get the license.
  8. The applicant can download the license from email or through post.
  9. The processing time for this procedure takes about 15 – 30 days.

  • Only U.S. Citizens are authorized to receive or to hold a Crab Receiver permit.



FeesEdit

  • License fee: $145.00
  • Payment of all outstanding fees must be submitted to NMFS on or before July 31.



ValidityEdit

  • Permits are annual, issued for a crab fishing year (July 1 through June 30).
