- To Obtain an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN), the applicant has to complete the applicant and mail it to Internal Revenue Service in United State link
- The applicant has to download the application form from the following link
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form.
- The Applicant should make sure to carry all the documents that are mentioned under the “Required Documents” section of this page (Both photocopies and originals).
- Applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the form and attach the photocopies of the documents that are needed along with the application form before submitting.
- Once completed, the applicant should submit the Form to the Internal Revenue Service or submit through this mail Internal Revenue Service, Austin Service Centre, ITIN Operation, P.O. Box 149342, Austin, TX 78714-9342.
- The fee for this procedure has to be paid as per authority’s request.
- The Concerned authorities will look into the application form and the submitted document.
- The applicant will receive a letter from the IRS assigning their tax identification number usually within seven weeks, if the applicant qualify for an ITIN and the application is complete.
- If the approval has not been given within 14 weeks, applicant can visit the office to know status of their application.
