Apply In Person

1. To Obtain Canadian Border Boat Landing Permit or License, the applicant has to approach the DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY U.S. Customs and Border Protection link

   Note: The applicant has to click on their respective Port of Entry in their state on the map.

2. The applicant has to download the application form from the following link
3. The applicant has to enter all the details in the application form.
4. Make sure that the applicant has to attach all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
6. The applicant has to get an appointment for site inspection. The nearest office details are mentioned in the following link

   NOTE: Call the nearest office to get the appointment.

7. Submit all the necessary documents along with the application form to the nearest office.
8. All the family members have to visit for the inspection. If the applicant is below the age of 14, then it is not needed.
9. Once all the process gets done by the officer, the applicant gets notification through mail.
10. The fee for this procedure is mentioned in the “Fees” section of this page.
11. The applicant has to visit the office to get the permit or it can be sent it through mail.
12. The processing time for this procedure will vary according to the interview and checking of database.

Eligibility

The person who is

• United States citizens
• Lawful Permanent Residents of the United States
• Canadian citizens, Canadian Permanent Residents of Canada, and
• Landed Residents of Canada who are nationals of Visa Waiver Pilot Program countries, who also have a valid Form I-94W, Visa Waiver Arrival-Departure Record, or Form I-94, Arrival-Departure Record if they were previously admitted with a valid unexpired visa, are eligible.

Fees

• The fee for an individual form is $16.00.
• The maximum amount payable by family (husband, wife, unmarried children under 21 years of age, parents of either husband or wife) is $32.

NOTE: The applicant age of 14 and above needs to use separate form.

Need for the Document
