Procedure

Apply In Person

1. To Get Property Transfer Authorization, the applicant has to approach the U.S General Service Administration link

   NOTE: The applicant has to select their respective state from the drop-down menu and click “Go” to view the nearby office to them.

2. The applicant has to download the form from the following link

   NOTE: Download the form from the following link either in a pdf format or using adobe reader.

3. The applicant has to enter all the details in the application form.
4. Make sure that the applicant has to attach all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
6. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the federal agency or GSA office.
7. The fee for this procedure is mentioned in the “Fees” section of this page.
8. Once the verification process is done by the federal agency, they transfer all the document to the GSA office within 10 days.
9. After process gets completed, the applicant has to visit the nearest GSA office complete the final process, which will be intimate by the officer.
10. The process time for this procedure is within 15 – 30 days.

• Digital photograph of the property
• Transfer any available operating manual, parts list, diagram, maintenance log, or other instructional publication along with the property itself
• Advise the designated recipient of any special requirements for dismantling, shipping, and transportation; and
• Provide advance notice of a facility closing, if the personal property is located at a place planned for closure. Ensure there is sufficient time for screening and property removal.

Eligibility

• Any person who has property and they are intended to Get Property Transfer Authorization is eligible to make this application.

Fees

• Transfers between federal agencies are normally made without charge for the property itself. The acquiring agency must pay for shipping and transportation.
• For transfers to project grantees, the sponsoring federal agency must pay the U.S. Treasury 25 percent of the original acquisition cost of the property unless the project grantees are specifically exempt by law. The acquiring agency covers the cost of the property’s care, handling, and transportation.
