- To Get Manufacturers’ Shipments, Inventories, and Orders Survey (M3), the applicant has to approach the U.S. Census Bureau Economic Indicators Division link
- The applicant has to download the application form from the following link
- The applicant has to fill all the details in the application form.
- NOTE: The applicant can contact the Residential Construction Branch for completing the survey at: 1–800–845–8244. Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern time.
- For filling the application form follow the instruction manual document link is given in the “Instructions” section of this page.
- Make sure that the applicant has to attach all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the office mail address.
- The mailing address is mentioned in the “Office Locations & Contacts” section of this page.
- Once the verification process gets done, the applicant gets the survey report through mail.
- The fee for this procedure has to paid as per the authority’s request.
- Please check the estimate timing is mentioned under the “Processing Time” section of this page.
- The applicant has to send back the survey report within the mentioned date.

Processing TimeEdit
- The first results of this survey are published about 18 days after the end of the survey month. Reports received by the preceding day can generally, be included in the early (or advance) estimates.
- The second publication of the survey data is released one week later based on receipts through the 30th of the month; the final estimates include all other receipts.
