Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. Application form is available in the U.S. Consulate or Embassy contact link Applicant should make sure to carry all the documents that are mentioned under the “Required Documents” section of this page (Both photocopies and originals).
2. Applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the form and attach the photocopies of the documents that are needed along with the application form before submitting.
3. Fee for this procedure has to be paid as per authority’s request.
4. Concerned authorities will look into the application form and submitted documents before providing an approval.
5. Approval will be provided within 12-18 weeks.
6. If the approval has not been given within 12-18 weeks, applicant can visit the office to know status of their application.

Apply Online

1. Application is available in the following link
2. If the applicant is an existing user, they can login directly using their “User ID” and “Password”.
3. If the applicant is a new user, they have to register first by clicking on the “Register” option.
4. While registering, applicant has to provide all necessary information in the application form and finally click on “Register” button.
5. Once the registration is successful, applicant can login with their “User ID” and “Password”.
6. After logging in, applicant has to choose the service necessary for them.
7. Applicant must provide all information necessary for application procedure online.
8. Applicant should make sure to upload digital copies of documents (whichever is necessary) along with the application form.
9. Finally, applicant has to click on “Submit” button.
10. Fee for this procedure can be paid online.
11. After getting approval from concerned authorities, subsidy will be provided within 12-18 weeks.

Apply by Mail

1. Application is available in the following link
2. Print and sign the form.
3. Take a new Passport size photo
4. Place signed form, passport size photo, previously issues passport, and fee for the procedure in an envelope.
5. Mail the envelope to the appropriate office.
