Apply by Mail:
- To Apply for a Class 3 (Three) Firearms License, the applicant has to approach the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives link
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer. or it can be downloaded from the following link1 or link2
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
- Submit all the necessary documents along with the application form to the completed mailing address.
- The mailing address is mentioned in the “Office Locations & Contacts” section of this page.
- The fee for this procedure is mentioned in the “Fees” section of this page.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- Then the application will be processed further by the respective officer.
- Once the process gets completed, the officer will notify the applicant regarding the application through email or phone.
- The applicant has to visit the office to complete the biometric process.
- Upon completion successfully, the applicant will get the license from the office or through the mail.
- This entire process can be completed within 30 - 40 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

EligibilityEdit
- The applicant must be at least 21 years old, not prohibited from possessing firearms by federal or state law, and have a clean criminal record.
- Individuals or a firm engaged in the manufacturing or importation of weapons and ammunition, as well as the interstate and intrastate sale of firearms.
- Collectors of Curios and Relics (Type 03 FFL) licensees are prohibited from buying or selling curios and relics under this license.

- The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee for 3rd class firearm license is $500.
- The Federal Firearmfee is $200.
