Apply In-Person:
- The applicant has to reach out to National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) for the application. Contact details are mentioned in “Office Locations & Contacts” of this page. Or Use the given following Contact Link
- An application form is also available at the following Link
- The applicant should make sure to carry all the documents that are mentioned under the “Required Documents” section of this page (Both photocopies and originals).
- Applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the form and attach the photocopies of the documents that are needed along with the application form before submitting.
- Submit the Scallop LLP License Application to the National Marine Fisheries Service(NMFS) once it's completed.
- For the fee payment details, the applicant has to contact the NMFS.
- At least 10 working days for the application to be processed.
- Unless the applicant offer different instructions and send a prepaid mailer with appropriate postage or a corporate account number for expedited delivery, items will be shipped to the applicant through first class mail.

- Only persons who are U.S. Citizens are authorized to receive or hold a Federal Fisheries Permit.

- For the fee payment details, the applicant has to contact the NMFS.
ValidityEdit
- Each license displays an MLOA (in feet). MLOA is restricted to 100% of the LOA of the qualifying vessel or, 100% of the LOA of the largest vessel used in the recent qualifying period.

- If a vessel did not make a legal landing of scallops outside Cook Inlet (State of Alaska Registration Area H) in 1 of the 3 years 1996, 1997, or 1998, through October 9, 1998, the license would be restricted to a single 6-foot (1.8-m) dredge.

Need for the DocumentEdit
- Onboard any vessel engaged in scallop fishing in federal seas off Alaska, a federal Scallop License Limitation Program (SLLP) licence is required (except for some diving operations).
- The SLLP aims to limit the number of participants in the scallop fishery off Alaska and lower fishing capacity.

Other uses of the Document/CertificateEdit
- This information will be used by the Department to identify fisheries participants and establish eligibility for transfer.
- Under the Privacy Act of 1974 (5 U.S.C. Section 552a), this information may be shared within NMFS offices, as well as with applicable State or Regional Marine Fisheries Commissions and International Organizations, in order to coordinate monitoring and management of fisheries and protected resources.
