Apply In-Person:

  1. To Apply for Rural Business Development Grants (RBDG), the applicant has to reach out to U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development for the application. Contact details are mentioned in “Office Locations & Contacts” of this page. Or use the following Link
  2. An application form is available at the following Link
  3. The applicant should make sure to carry all the documents that are mentioned under the “Required Documents” section of this page (Both photocopies and originals).
  4. Applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the form and attach the photocopies of the documents that are needed along with the application form before submitting.
  5. There is no fee for this procedure.
  6. USDA Rural Development accepts applications through local or state offices.
  7. Applicants should review programme material particular to their local or state office to learn about application deadlines, concept paper requirements, and other details.
  8. Completed forms should be attached to Appendix F - Forms in the Rural Business Development Grant Application Toolkit.
  9. Please contact Rural Development staff if you have not yet received the toolkit.
  10. Grant recipients must submit relevant papers and adhere to the award's terms and conditions.
  11. Contact nearest State office for further details.

  3. Applicant should make sure to upload digital copies of documents (whichever is necessary) along with the passport size photographs.
  4. Place signed form, passport size photo, previously issues passport, and fee for the procedure in an envelope.
  5. Mail the envelope to the appropriate office.
  6. There is no fee required for this procedure.
  7. USDA Rural Development accepts applications through local or state offices.

  • Articles of Incorporation (including any amendments).
  • Bylaws (including any amendments).
  • RS letter granting non-profit standing.
  • Current (within 12 months) Certificate of Good Standing issued by the appropriate Secretary of State.
  • Board Resolution authorizing entity to apply and administer the RBEG/RBOG including the name and title of the person authorized to sign grant documents.
  • List of Board Members.
  • Documentation of organization (dated established if other than city, county, or state government).
  • Latest Three (3) years financial statements including, balance sheets, income statements and current audited report if available.
  • Copy of an account statement

Need for the DocumentEdit

  • RBDG is a competitive grant designed to support targeted technical assistance, training, and other activities leading to the development or expansion of small and emerging private businesses in rural areas that have fewer than 50 employees and less than $1 million in gross revenues. Programmatic activities are separated into enterprise or opportunity type grant activities.
