Apply In Person:

  1. To Apply for Real Estate License, the applicant has to approach the U.S. General Services Administration Link
  2. Complete the required pre-license education. Most states require applicants to take a specific number of hours of real estate education courses from an approved provider.
  3. These courses cover topics such as real estate principles, practices, contracts, and laws. Make sure to choose an accredited school or program recognized by your state.
  4. Prepare for the real estate licensing exam. The exam assesses your knowledge of real estate laws, regulations, and practices. Consider using study materials, practice exams, and review courses to enhance your preparation.
  5. Schedule your real estate licensing exam with the authorized testing provider in your state. The exam is typically computer-based and consists of multiple-choice questions. Upon passing the exam, you will receive a passing score report.
  6. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
  7. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
  8. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  9. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
  10. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
  11. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
  12. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
  13. Then the application will be processed further.
  14. Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
  15. The applicant has to visit the office to collect the permit or through the mail.
  16. This entire process can be completed within 3 - 4 weeks or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
