- To Apply for Property Manager License, the applicant has to approach the U.S. General Services Administration Link
- The applicant may need to complete specific education or training. This might include real estate courses, property management courses, or other relevant education.
- Gain practical experience by working in the property management field, either as an assistant or under the supervision of a licensed property manager.
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
- The fee for this procedure is mentioned in the “Fees” section of this page.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- Then the application will be processed further.
- Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
- Once your application is approved, you'll receive your Property Manager License or certification.
- This entire process of CPM takes a minimum of 12 months to complete, however on average individuals spend 18-24 months preparing for the certification.

To be eligible to apply for a PML in the United States, you must typically meet the following requirements:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Complete a property management course or program
- Pass the state property manager exam
- Have a clean criminal record
FeesEdit
The average total cost to earn the CPM is between $7,600 and 8,600.
- $6,200 for course and exam tuition for the 8 CPM courses and the CPM Capstone
- $870 annually including CPM candidate, chapter, and NAR Institute Affiliate dues (chapter dues vary based on location)
- $695 in enrollment, graduation, and other fees
