Apply In-Person:

  1. To Apply for Picture Permit or License Imprint (USPS), the applicant has to approach the USPS – United States of Postal Service link
    NOTE: Enter the zip code, select the postal office and click the “Search” button.
  2. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the authority officer or the applicant can download the application form from the following link
  3. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form.
  4. The applicant has to make sure to attach all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
  6. Submit the completed form and the necessary documents to the local office or business mail entry unit.

  8. The applicant has to pay the related fee payment and the annual payment details that are mentioned in the “Fees” section of this page.
  9. Once all the verification process is done by the authority, the applicant receives a notification through a mail.

  • Keep this permit safely. The applicant doesn’t need to bring it, when the applicant comes to the post office.
  • It's possible to have a different permit number for each method of payment which the applicant uses:
    • one for pre cancelled stamps
    • one for the permit imprint
    • one for the postage meter. So, remember to use the right one.
