Apply In-Person:

  1. To Apply for Meat and Poultry Export Certificate of Wholesomeness, the applicant has to approach the Food Safety and Inspection Service U.S. Department of Agriculture. Contact details are mentioned in “Office Locations & Contacts” of this page. Or use the following given Contact Link
  2. The applicant has to fill-in all the details in the form.
  3. In order to receive certificates that are not already in the Export Library, FSIS certifying officials must either place an order or use PHIS.
  4. Applicant should make sure to attach all the documents that are mentioned under the “Required Documents” section of this page (Both photocopies and originals) while exporting the meats.
  5. The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) veterinarian will issue the certificate while exporting.
  6. FSIS regulations, an employee of the inspection programme is permitted to issue official export certificates for the shipment of FSIS inspected and passed products to any foreign country upon receipt of an application from an exporter (applicant).
  7. Public Health Information System (PHIS) will process and complete all using FSIS Form 9060-5S, Fish and Fish Products Export Certificate of Wholesomeness.

EligibilityEdit

  • An Export Certificate of Wholesomeness is available for all federally inspected and Meat items.
  • The FSIS Export Library Link does not specify additional regulations for all nations that import US meat and poultry products.
  • If a country is not mentioned in the FSIS Export Library, or if a product is not listed (as eligible or ineligible) on a specific country's Export Library webpage, IPP must issue the export certificate without any further supplemental certifications, statements, or attestations.

Need for the DocumentEdit

  • Only after obtaining this certificate can a product is exported from the United States.
  • Exporters from the United States should make sure that the items do not leave the country until the authority has signed the certificate.

Other uses of the Document/CertificateEdit

  • This certificate is also used for replacement.
  • The condition of the goods at the time of the initial export certification is recertified by a certificate that replaces the previous export certificate.
  • In the following cases, a replacement certificate may be issued:
    • The original certificate lacked essential information.
    • The original certificate contained inaccurate information.
    • The name of the consignee or exporter has changed.
    • The certificate has been misplaced or damaged.
    • The destination has changed; provided the new destination does not already have an AMS EV Program in place for that product.
