  1. To Apply for Mailing Permit or License and Customer Profile, the applicant has to approach the USPS – United States of Postal Service link

  3. The applicant has to enter all the necessary details in the application form.

  • The applicant must hold a permit and pay an annual mailing fee at every Post Office where the applicant wants to enter and pay for commercial mail.

  • Applicants must complete the application form before submitting it. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
  • Applicants must provide genuine information while applying for this procedure.
  • File the form alphabetically by customer’s business name. Post Offices where records are maintained manually must use PS Form 3609, Record of Permit Imprint Mailings, to establish a corresponding numerical record of permit holders. Use PS Form 25, Trust Fund Account, for all other services. Post Offices with a mail classification automated system that provides computation and individual customer account recordkeeping need not maintain a separate manual record.

  • A mailing permit is permission to use a certain postage payment method for commercial mailings.
  • To keep the permit imprint account active, the applicant must do a commercial mailing at least once every 2 years. Once the account is in-active, the applicant has to pay the application fee again to "turn it back on."
