Step – 1 Course

  1. Before Applying for a MRI Technologist License, Obtain a high school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Enroll in an accredited radiologic technology program that offers specialized training in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
  3. These programs are usually associate's or bachelor's degrees.
  4. Ensure that the program you choose is accredited by a recognized accrediting body, such as the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
  5. Complete the clinical training component of your radiologic technology program.
  6. This hands-on experience will provide you with the skills and knowledge needed to perform MRI procedures.



Step – 2 Examination

  1. Successfully graduate from your MRI technology program with a degree or certificate in MRI technology.
  2. Ensure you meet the eligibility requirements set by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) for certification.
  3. This typically includes completing an accredited program and meeting certain ethics requirements.



Step – 3 Licensure Examination

  1. Pass the ARRT MRI certification exam. Passing this exam demonstrates your competency in MRI technology.
  2. To schedule an exam, the applicant has to use the following link link
  3. If the applicant has to be a new user, the applicant has to click the “Register” button.
  4. Enter the details and click the “Next” button.
  5. Also, enter all the registration details and click the “Submit” button.
  6. Now the applicant has to log in with the username and password and click the “Login” button.
  7. Enter and select the details and click the “Submit” button.
  8. If your state licensing entity approves you to take the licensing exam, it will send you instructions for paying your exam fee to ARRT.
  9. Approximately 10 days after ARRT processes your exam payment, you can log in to your online account to view your Candidate Status Report. Your Candidate Status Report contains the information you’ll need to schedule your exam appointment with a Pearson VUE test center.
  10. Candidate Status Report will list the dates of your 90-day exam window. You must schedule and complete your exam during this period.



Step - 4

  1. After completing the exam successfully, the applicant has to get a license from the state Licensing office link
  2. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned branch officer.
  3. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
  4. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
  6. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
  7. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
  8. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
  9. Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
  10. Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
  11. The applicant will get the dental license through the mail.
  12. This entire process can be completed within 30 - 40 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

EligibilityEdit

To be eligible to register as a Radiologic Technologist in the United States, you must meet the following requirements:

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • You must complete an accredited MRI technologist training program.
