  1. To Apply for Horticulture License, the applicant has to approach the United States Department of Agriculture link
  2. The applicant has to complete the course, these courses may cover various aspects of horticulture such as plant identification, soil science, pest management, landscaping, and more.
  3. A certain amount of practical experience in horticulture. Seek opportunities to work in nurseries, gardens, landscaping companies, or other horticulture-related organizations to gain the necessary hands-on experience.
  4. Also, the applicant has to pass an examination to demonstrate their knowledge and competence in horticulture.
  5. The exam may cover various topics related to plant identification, diseases, pests, soil management, and other relevant areas.
  6. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer. or it can be downloaded from the following link link
  7. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
  8. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  9. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
  10. Submit the application form and the documents to the authorized officer.
  11. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
  12. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
  13. Then the application will be processed further.
  14. Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
  15. Once the applicant has obtained the horticulturist license, it is important to stay updated with current practices and advancements in the field.
  16. This entire process can be completed within 15 - 30 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
