Procedure

Step – 1 Course

1. Before applying for a Dental Assistant License, Graduate from an accredited dental school in the United States. Dental schools must be accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).
2. Also, the applicant needs to get an experience in the field.
3. Complete the required number of supervised hours. Most states require several thousand hours of supervised experience under the guidance of a licensed.

Step – 2 Examination

1. Take and pass the National Board Dental Examination (NBDE) Parts I and II.
2. These are comprehensive exams that assess your knowledge and skills in various aspects of dentistry.

Step – 3 Licensure Examination

1. Pass the clinical licensing examination administered by the American Board of Dental Examiners (ADEX) or the clinical examination accepted by the state dental board where you plan to practice.

8. Enter all the details and click the “Next” button.
9. Now create a password and click the “Submit” button.
10. Now the applicant has to log in with the email ID and password and click the “LOG IN” button.

Step – 4

1. To apply in person form exam, The applicant has to download the form from the following link link
2. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned branch officer.
3. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
4. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
6. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
7. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
8. Then the application will be processed further.
9. Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.

Step - 5

1. After completing the exam successfully, the applicant has to get a license from the respective dental college.
2. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned branch officer.
3. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
4. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.

8. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
9. Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
10. Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
11. The applicant will get the dental license through the mail.
12. This entire process can be completed within 30 - 40 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
