Apply Online

  1. To Apply for Antenna Registration, the applicant has to make the application online via Federal Communication Commission website link
  2. If the applicant is a new user, the applicant has to click on “New User Registration” then click on “Register” and enter their credentials and click “Create new account”.
  3. Next the applicant has to click “File Online” and enter their FCC Registration Number (FRN) and Password.
  4. An application from will be displayed on the screen.
  5. The applicant has to enter all the details in the application form.
  6. Make sure that the applicant has to attach all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  7. On the Application Summary page, click on the “Sign and Submit” button.
  8. Complete the Certification page and click the “Submit Application” button.
  9. The applicant will receive a confirmation of application submission screen that shows the file number and status. Click the “Back to Home” button to return to the Antenna Structure Registration Dashboard.
  10. After submitting the partially completed Form 854, the applicant is required to provide local notice of the proposed tower registration by publication in a local newspaper or by other means.
  11. The applicant must provide this local notice on or before the date he/she selected for posting the proposed registration on the FCC’s website.
  12. The fee for this procedure is free of cost.
  13. The processing time of this procedure completes within a month.

  1. To Apply for Antenna Registration, the applicant has to mail the completed application to U.S Federal Communication Commission link
  2. The applicant has to download the form from the following link
  3. The applicant has to enter all the details in the application form.
  4. Make sure that the applicant has to attach all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
  6. Mail all the documents with the completed form to the Federal Communication Commission. The mailing address is given in “Office Locations & Contacts section” of this page.
  7. The fee for this procedure is free of cost.

Need for the DocumentEdit

  • The owner of any proposed or existing antenna structure that requires notice of proposed construction to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) due to physical obstruction must register the structure with the Commission.
  • This includes those structures used as part of stations licensed by the Commission for the transmission of radio energy, or to be used as part of a cable television head end system. If a Federal Government antenna structure is to be used by a Commission licensee, the structure must be registered with the Commission.



Information which might helpEdit

For the construction or deployment of an antenna structure that will:

  • Be in place for no more than 60 days,
  • Requires notice of construction to the FAA,
  • Does not require marking or lighting under FAA regulations,
  • Will be less than 200 feet in height above ground level, and
  • Will either involve no excavation or involve excavation only where the depth of previous disturbance exceeds the proposed construction depth (excluding footings and other anchoring mechanisms) by at least two feet. An applicant that relies on this exception must wait 30 days after removal of the antenna structure before relying on this exception to deploy another antenna structure covering substantially the same service area.

  • Antenna structure. The term antenna structure means a structure that is constructed or used to transmit radio energy, or that is constructed or used for the primary purpose of supporting antennas to transmit and/or receive radio energy, and any antennas and other appurtenances mounted thereon, from the time construction of the supporting structure begins until such time as the supporting structure is dismantled.
  • Antenna farm area. A geographical location, with established boundaries, designated by the Federal Communications Commission, in which antenna structures with a common impact on aviation may be grouped.
  • Antenna structure owner. For the purposes of this part, an antenna structure owner is the individual or entity vested with ownership, equitable ownership, dominion, or title to the antenna structure that is constructed or used to transmit radio energy, or the underlying antenna structure that supports or is intended to support antennas and other appurtenances. Notwithstanding any agreements made between the owner and any entity designated by the owner to maintain the antenna structure, the owner is ultimately responsible for compliance with the requirements of this part.
