1. Gather all documents you will need to present or submit to apply for the procedure.
2. Complete the application form.
3. Application forms to obtain a permit to purchase hunting/sporting weapons and ammunitions are accepted by the Department during weekdays, from 9:00am till 1:00pm, then 2:00pm to 6:00pm.
4. Once all required documents has been submitted by an entity or by the applicant a decision regarding the grant or refusal of the permit will be released within a period not exceeding thirty days.
5. In case the application to obtain a permit is denied by the authorized authority, the applicant may appeal the decision, re-examination of documents will take about ten working days to be completed.

For legal entities:

• Completed application form, stating the name of the entity, its location (postal address) and form of organization. A copy of the form must be addressed to the Defense Ministry to obtain weapons and ammunition from the warehouses of military units.

For individuals:

For threaded and combined arms:

• Completed applicatiom form
• A document that proves the applicant is a member of the Society of Hunters and Fishermen in Uzbekistan
• Medical Certificate stating that the applicant is fit to possess and use weapons allowed by the permit
• Valid identification document

For smooth-bore weapons:

• Completed application form and the availability of hunting ticket (with a note on the payment of dues for the current year)
• Medical Certificate stating that the applicant is fit to possess and use weapons allowed by the permit
• Valid identification document

It is the responsiblity of the General Administration Department in charge of public safety to issue permit to purchase hunting/sporting weapons and ammunitions to entities or individuals who are eligible to obtain such permit. The department is under Republic of Uzbekistan's, Ministry of Internal Affairs (main office - Tashkent).

Following are procedures on how you can obtain a permit to purchase hunting/sporting weapons and ammunitions in Uzbekistan.

A permit may not issued to an entity or an individual on the following grounds:

• Incomplete documents.
• The applicant is not eligible to obtain the said permit, absence of the applicant's legal entity status.
• The application form submitted by the applicant contains false or distorted information.
• Issuance of the permit to the applicant may not ensure that public order and security in the country will be maintained.

Individuals with the following conditions may also be denied to obtain a permit:

• Mental illness
• Individuals who systematically violates rules of public order,
• Individuals who are into abusing alcohol, not used for medical purposes and other intoxicating drugs (for abuse) of the substance
• Individuals indicted in criminal cases in which the established order is not canceled or expunged conviction for serious crimes, and crimes committed with firearms and explosives
• Individuals sentenced to be imprisoned for committing premeditated crimes;
• Individuals who are conditionally released from prison with compulsory labor; *Individuals convicted of religious extremism and terrorism.

Note: The following resolution does not apply to homemade firearms.
