Procedure

[edit]

  1. Before you can apply for a new passport, you must first file a police report.
  2. Bring the police report when you apply for a new e-Passport. Your lost passport will be cancelled.
  3. To obtain a new one, you will need to complete an application and submit it together with these documents:
    1. A police report with case number, case officers name, and contact telephone number.
    2. Thai Identification Card, Thai Driver License or any Thai documents (if applicable).
    3. Photocopy of old passport (if available) and/or passport number.
  4. Pay the application fee.

If the passport was lost/stolen outside in a foreign country

  1. You must immediately file a lost Passport report to local authorities.
  2. Bring the report together with documents proving your Thai nationality or other Residential Registration documents such as Citizenship Card and House Registration to the nearest Thai embassy or consulate-general to apply for a new e-Passport.

Note: If the passport is lost and a new e-Passport has not been issued but there is an urgent need to return to Thailand, the Thai embassy or consulate-general will issue a Certificate of Identity (CI).
