Apply In-Person:

1. To get Injury on Duty (IOD) Payments, the applicant must go to the Department of Government Pensions Administration Agency’s (GPAA) office. Contact Link
2. The applicant must submit a written a request letter with all the necessary details to the respective authorities at the GPAA department.
3. Make sure that you have all the documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
4. The written application form along with the required documents should be submitted to the respective authorities at the GPAA department.
5. Then the application form will be verified by the officials. If the details are legitimate, then the IOD payments will be sanctioned to the applicant or to the dependent (in case of death of the employee).
6. The fee details and the processing time will be intimated to the applicant at the GPAA office while submitting the application.

• A government employee (or their dependants if they have passed away) who has suffered an injury, become infected with an illness or who has died while performing his or her duties are eligible to apply for Injury on Duty (IOD) application.

• The fee details will be intimated to the applicant while submitting the application.

• The IOD payments validity depends upon the type of application. Depending upon the application, the validity will be intimated after the payment sanction.

The benefits of IOD that the applicant can avail are:

• A lump sum payment for a government employee who is considered to have between 1 and 30% disablement due to an injury that occurred while they were on duty.
• A monthly pension payment for a government employee who is considered to have between 31 and 100% disablement due to an injury that occurred while they were on duty.
• Payment to support a widow or widower who had children under the age of 18 at the time of the spouse’s death. (In the case of the death of a government employee that took place while they were on duty)
• Payment to support a widow or widower who did not have children under the age of 18 at the time of the spouse’s death. (In the case of the death of a government employee that took place while they were on duty) and
• Payment to a guardian for children who were under the age of 18 at the time of the parent’s death. (in the case of the death of a government employee that took place while they were on duty)
