Apply In-Person:

1. To Get Employment Creation Fund (ECF), the applicant must go to the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Office in South Africa. Contact Link
2. The written application can be sent via mail or through postal address to the respective authorities in the DTI office.
3. Make sure that you have all the documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
4. All the necessary documents must be submitted to ECF Secretariat along with the application form.
5. After verifying the documents completely, if the applicant qualifies the eligibility requirements set by the DTI board, then the ECF fund will be sanctioned to the applicant.
6. The cost of the ECF fund will be shared by both the government and private sector partners.
7. There are no fee or charges to file the ECF application.
8. The processing time will be intimated to the applicant while applying.

• Audited financial statements.
• Legal Entities in existence for more than 18 months.
• Management accounts for the month prior to the date of the submission for funding

The eligible applicants of the ECF are:

• A concept development where there is an idea or concept that still needs further work or research before it can become an employment creation project.
• A business case where a project to create employment has already been defined and comprehensive research undertaken.
• Technical support under the Cluster Support Facility applications.

• No fees or charges are levied for the processing or evaluation of ECF applications or claims.

• The primary validity of the Employment Creation Fund is 3 years. However, the applicants can extend the funding duration for another 3 years by providing the business plan strategies.

• After getting the approval from the DTI, the applicant will receive a maximum of R10 Million grant support for the approved ECF project.
