While hiring a person in Sikkim, one has to register the Employee’s details with the Police for Employee Verification.
Apply In-Person

1. To register the Employee’s details with the police, get the Employee Verification form from the nearest Police Station Sikkim Police Stations
2. To download the form online, select the given link, scroll down to Employees/ Domestic Servants/Tenants Section and click on the Employee/Tenant Info form:Application Form
3. In the procured form, fill the required details of the employee.
4. Provide the complete description of the employee in the section provided for the same.
5. Provide the employee’s voluntary finger prints if necessary.
6. Affix the Passport size photograph of the employee in the space given.
7. Attach Photocopy of Photo ID proofs of the employee.
8. Submit the form at the concerned Police Station of your Jurisdiction.
9. The police would verify the permanent and present address of the employee.
10. They will also check if the person to be hired if of good conduct and would inform the employer in case of any previous criminal records.
11. Follow up to know the status of your report, and visit the Police Station to get the report once it is ready.

• While employing a person, it is highly advisable to register their information with the Police for verification of the person’s antecedent.
• This verification also helps you know if any criminal records were registered against the person hired and if he/she has a shady character.

• Usually, in the event of a crime, the police would be left with zero information about the employee's details. However, the information gained through the employee registration process would help the police to track such crimes.
