There are three ways an applicant may submit his/her request to obtain a license to purchase hunting or sporting firearms:

• In person
• By e-mail
• On line

The applicant may get the result to his/her request, in person, through e-mail or by logging in on line.

Reasons why an application may be denied:

• Applicant do not possess permanent residence in the Russian Federation.
• The applicant was not able to submit a medical report that will prove that he/she is not suffering from any weapon-related visual impairment, mental illness, alcoholism or drug addiction, the form and the order of which is determined by the federal executive branch responsible for public policy and legal regulation in the field of health.
• The applicant were registered at health care for mental illness, alcoholism or drug addiction
• The applicant have committed repeatedly within a year administrative offences disrupting public order and public safety or practice management or administrative offence of illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues and consumption of non-prescription drugs or psychotropic substances.
• The applicant was deprived by the court of the right to acquire weapons
• The applicant is serving a sentence for a crime.
• The applicant have not been cleared or outstanding conviction for a crime committed intentionally
• The applicant is under 18 years old.
• The applicant have not submitted documents to prove he/she is trained to handle the firearms.

• Completed application form
• Passport of the Russian Federation or other document proving identity and citizenship of the Russian Federation

Citizens of the Russian Federation (referred to in paragraph 8 of Article 10 and Article 13 of the Federal Law of 13 December 1996 ? 150-FZ "On Weapons") may apply to obtain a license to purchase hunting or sporting firearms (riffled barrel).

Application fee (per unit of firearm) : 200 rubles

Only cash payments are accepted (Resolution of the Government of the Russian Federation dated June 8, 1998 ? 574)

Explain the time until which the certificate/document is valid.
e.g. Birth Certificate Valid Forever

The license will be issued a month after receipt of request.
