Nigeria - Registration for Non-Nigerian (Foreign) Pharmacist


Procedure

Apply In-Person

  1. To apply for registering as a Non-Nigerian (Foreign) Pharmacist in person, the applicant must visit the office of the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN).
  2. The address and contact details of the PCN can be found in the following contact link
  3. Visit the office and obtain an application form to be completed for registration as a Non-Nigerian (Foreign) pharmacist from the relevant department.
  4. Also, obtain the other forms that are required to be completed for the registration process.
  5. Complete the forms with appropriate information under relevant sections. Attest it with your signature once completed.
  6. Once completed filling the application form, make sure that you attached all the documents listed in the “Required documents” section of this page.
  7. Then, submit it in person to the relevant authority at the office. Make the stipulated payment as directed by the officials.
  8. After submission, the application and other documents will be forwarded for examination and verification processes.
  9. Once the verification and validation processes are over, the application will be approved and the officials will proceed to take required steps to issue the Annual license in Form H and Certificate of Registration as a Pharmacist in Form E.
  10. When the documents are ready to be collected, the applicant will receive a notification from the office through email or phone call regarding the collection and the applicant can collect them by any applicable means.


Apply Online

  1. In order to apply for registering as a Pharmacist online, the applicant should first visit the office of their State Chairman of Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) and collect their clearance note which will be issued as a proof of their Regularisation of membership in PSN.

  3. Visit the State chairman office and complete the regularisation procedure by paying the compulsory building fee as prescribed.
  4. On completing it, the official will issue a clearance note which you should take and visit the PCN state office.

  6. Visit PCN office in your State and present the clearance from PSN to collect a SCRATCH CARD (this card is free).
  7. Now, you have obtained the scratch card, you can enter the following portal and make your registration through online application link
  8. If you have already registered, click “Log in” button at the top and enter the user details, then click “Log in” button to enter into the portal.
  9. If not, click “Sign Ups” option and enter the secret number present in the scratch card in the field provided and click “continue” button.
  10. You will be redirected to the registration page. Complete the registration form for the current year with the required details under relevant sections.
  11. After completing, click submit button to submit the registration form.
  12. On submission of the application, the applicant will be displayed with instructions regarding the further processes.
  13. Follow the onscreen instructions and complete the registration process. Pay the required fees amount through the online payment gateway.
  14. Once you are done with it, the application and other documents will be forwarded for examination and verification processes.

  • Application for retention of name in the Register in form J
  • Proof of PCN approved Academic Qualification
  • Proof of successful attempt of Council’s examination in Law and Ethics
  • Bank draft for prescribed fees (in the name of PCN)
  • Any supporting document (as instructed)

Eligibility

  • A person who is not a citizen of Nigeria may be registered as a pharmacist under the fact that, if the country which he is a citizen or national, as the case may be, grants reciprocal registration facilities to Nigeria.
  • However, foreigners who have evidence of registration in their country of training will be granted registration as a Non-Nigerian Pharmacist:
    • If he/she holds a qualification approved by the Council and has passed the Council’s examination in Law and Ethics governing the practice of pharmacy in Nigeria.
    • If he/she has been resident in Nigeria for not less than twelve (12) calendar months immediately preceding the date of his application for registration.
