- To begin your application, please visit the NIS portal. Click here: Link
- Complete Application and make payments by following the website prompts.
- Once application is submitted successfully, a printable receipt would be issued.
- The application would be processed, after which, an “Approval confirmation” and “Approval letter” would be sent to your email within 48hrs (2 working days).
- Arrive at the Port of Entry and proceed for biometric enrolment, visa issuance and Immigration Clearance
- Upon arrival at the Port of Entry, proceed to the desk marked ‘’Visa on Arrival’’ for biometric enrolment and issuance of entry Visa.
- Note: Successful online payment is not an approval. Applicant should not proceed to Nigeria until receipt of ‘’Visa on Arrival Approval Letter’’.
Required Documents
You will be required to upload the following original documents:
- Passport Photo
- Introduction/Application Letter
- Copy of Passport Data Page
- Copy of Airline Return Ticket
- Invitation Letter from Host Company
- Corporate Affairs Commission Certificate from Host Company, or in case of NGO’s a letter of Permission.
NB- Introduction/Application Letter should be addressed to The Comptroller General of Immigration, NIS HQ, Abuja. Stating the following:
- Name of Applicant indicating Nationality
- Passport number of Applicant
- Purpose of visit
- Proposed date of visit
- Proposed port of entry
- Flight itinerary
- Address in Nigeria or Hotel Reservation
Present the following documents at the Port of Entry:
- Visa Approval Letter, valid for 14 days from the date of issuance
- Evidence of online payment
- Valid Passport with minimum of six months validity
- Valid return ticket

Eligibility
- Frequently travelled Business Persons of International Repute
- Executives of Multi-national Companies
- Members of Government Delegations
- Holders of United Nations Laissez-Passer
- Holders of African Union Laissez-Passer,
- Holders of any other Official travel documents of other recognized International Organizations who intend to visit Nigeria.
- Note: Visa on Arrival is available to citizens of all countries except ECOWAS Nationals who do not require visa to visit Nigeria and other countries in which Nigeria has entered into visa abolition agreements.

The Approval letter is free.
Validity
Visa on Arrival is not valid for employment or residence.

Instructions
As part of anti-fraud measures, please note the following policy for making payments on the site:
- Applicants first name and last name must match the first name and last name on the credit card used for payment.
- Applicants who intend to pay for family members should use the cart which allows for payment for up to 5 applications at the same time – the applicant/card holder and 4 family members).
- When using the cart, the last name of all family members must match the last name on the credit card used for payment.
- Cards can be used once per month unless registered where applicable.
- Note: To qualify to use the cart to pay for family, the cardholder must also be an applicant in the cart.
The following users are required to register their cards before making payment on the site:
- Applicants whose first names and last names do not exactly match the first and last names on their credit cards.
- Cardholders making payments for others.
- Applicants/cardholders who wish to make payments more than once a month on the site.
- Applicants/cardholders such as travel agencies or businesses who wish to use the cart to make payment for more than 5 applicants at the same time.
- To ensure that your payment is properly processed, the address on your card statement must match exactly the address you provide on the portal payment page.
- Note: no card holder who has charged back, or card that has been charged back or applicant for whom a charged back card was used for payment shall be able to use a card on this site unless approved by customer service. Same applies to applicants or card holders who are placed on the site black list due to fraudulent activities.

Need for the Document
Nigeria Visa on Arrival is a class of short visit visa issued at the port of entry. The facility is available to frequently travelled High Net Worth Investors and Intending Visitors who may not be able to obtain visa at the Nigerian Missions/Embassies in their countries of residence due to the absence of a Nigerian mission in those countries or exigencies of urgent business travels.
The VoA facility is available to two categories of travellers:
- Frequently travelled High Net Worth Investors with business interest in Nigeria.
- Citizens of African Countries.

Cash payments for visa applications is prohibited by order of Nigeria immigration service. Travelers must present proof of payment in the form of a printed payment receipt and acknowledgement slip, visas paid for in cash will not be accepted upon arrival.
