Apply In-person

1. Approach the nearest CSC centre and ask them for guidelines on how to obtain a license as a water tanker distributer.
2. Use the following link to find the nearest CSC centre. Link
3. The applicant has to get the application form from the respective office. Enter details, such as name, address, GST number and other required information.
4. The applicant will have to attach documents as mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Make sure all the given details are correct.
6. Make a fee payment, the fee-related details are mentioned under the “Fees” section of this page.
7. The applicant will receive an application number, save this number in case the applicant wants to track their application.
8. Once approved, the applicant can collect the certificate from the CSC centre.

Apply In-person: (FSSAI)

1. The applicant will need a trade permit to be able to sell water.
2. Visit the nearest CSC centre to apply for a trade license.

4. The applicant will be given application forms that they need to submit with relevant documents.
5. Find a list of documents under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
6. Submit the application form along with the documents to the nearest CSC centre.
7. Once approved, the applicant can collect the certificate from the office.

Apply online:

1. To Obtain Water Tanker (Lorry) License or Permit through online, you can use the FOSCOS website. Please click the following link: link
2. Click the “Login-Businesses” tab and Under User sign-in Box enter your Application Ref. No./License No./Certificate No. and Click on the “Proceed” button to login.
3. If you are a new user, then Click on the "Do you want to apply for New License/Registration" and click on the "Apply for License/Registration" tab in the new page.
4. Next select the state from the dropdown list box and read the Note.
5. Next select the type of Business, Now Select the annual turnover of your business. After that Click on the “Proceed” tab.
6. On the next page, click on the “Click here to apply State License for all Businesses”.
7. Next Form-B page will be displayed, fill all the required information’s under premises details section and Click on the “Save & Next” tab.
8. On the Production selection page, fill all the details for DGFT Authentication and Click on the “Proceed with DGFT validation” to authenticate the details.
9. Next Click on the “Save” to save the authenticated details. After Successfully Proceeding with DGFT validation, click on the “Save & Next”.
10. Next fill all the Communication details and Click on the “Save &Next”.
11. Under required documents section upload all the relevant documents and Click on the “Save & Next”.
12. Next pay the fees and submit the application.
13. After Successful Completing the payment, a receipt will be generated with a 17-digit reference number make a print of it and keep it safe for future reference.
14. You can track the application through the home page.
15. This application will be processed by them and they will notify you through your e-mail or by SMS.

Apply Online Tanker FSSAI License

1. To be able to distribute water with a water tanker, it is mandatory to obtain a license from FSSAI.
2. The applicant will have to visit the official website of FSSAI.

4. If you have login credentials you can log in.
5. If you do not, follow these steps:
   • On the top right, click on “Sign up”.
   • You will be directed to another page where you will have to enter your name, email, mobile number, login ID and password.
   • Enter captcha.
   • Click on Sign up.
   • A verification code will be sent to your mobile number and email ID.
   • Enter these codes and your account will be created.
   • Now, go back to the login page and log in.
6. Once logged in, on the left, click on “License registration”.
7. Click on “Apply for new registration”.
8. Select the state where you want your license, in this case, it will be Bihar.
9. Under “trade/retail” click on “Transportation”.
10. The applicant will have to select how many tankers you have, now click on proceed.
11. Click on “click here to…”.
12. Enter details such as your GST number, address, pin code, state sub-district. (This is form B).
13. Once done, click on “save and next”.
14. The applicant will have to upload the documents.
15. Make an online fee payment.
16. Once payment is completed, you will receive an acknowledgement slip along with an application number that can be used to track your application.
17. The applicant can download the license once it has been approved.

Apply through mobile app:

1. The applicant willing to Obtain Water Tanker (Lorry) License or Permit must download the mobile app Food Safety Connect App.
2. The applicant can download the app from play store using the following Link: link
3. Once downloaded, the applicant must click the button “Apply for license” in the main page.
4. Then the applicant has to select their respective state from the dropdown menu where premises is located for which License/Registration will be obtained.
5. Next select the type of Business, Now Select the annual turnover of the business. After that Click on the “Proceed” tab.
6. On the next page, click on the “Click here to apply Central License for all Businesses”.
7. Next Form-B page will be displayed, fill all the required information under premises details section and Click on the “Save & Next” tab.
8. On the Production selection page, fill all the details for DGFT Authentication and Click on the “Proceed with DGFT validation” to authenticate the details.

• Registration Certificate of the vehicle.
• Fitness Certificate of the vehicle.
• Insurance of the vehicle.
• Proof of payment of road tax.
• Fee for State Permit.

For FSSAI certificate:

• Passport size photographs
• Government-issued photo ID such as AADHAAR, PAN, Voter ID etc.
• Proof of Address of Businesses activity (if an address is other than as mentioned in Photo ID Card)
• Details about your vehicle
