Apply via Agent
Apply In-Person:
- To apply for a temporary residence certificate, applicant has to approach the “OFFICE OF THE DEPUTY COMMISSIONER“ office Link
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has to attach all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. #If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference.
- Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
- If required, the department will conduct the physical inspection of the premises/area to make sure, that the said premises/area doesn’t fall under the restricted zone for issuance of a license.
- Based on the outcome of the above report, recommendation, and other internal processing, the designated authority will grant the license with his/her seal and signature.
- once the verification process, gets completed, the applicant will get notification through call or SMS.
- The applicant has to visit the office for completing the further process.

- Copy of 2 recent passport size photograph
- Attested copy of birth certificate.

- Attested copy of voter ID
- Attested copy of Inner line permit (This document is required in some states as per local government norms)
- Attested copy of trading license as per requirement
- Govt. Identity Card /Trading License of Guardian
- Trading/establishment of guardian.
- Certificate stating evidence of guardianship

Eligibility
- Applicant with a valid residence certificate from other state can apply for temporary residence certificate in the state where they are working/doing business.
- Applicant must be the citizen of India.

Validity
Temporary certificate is valid for 1 year (it can be issued for a maximum of 2 years)

Instructions
- Do not submit fake documents as a proof to obtain this certificate.
- Applying for residential certificate in another state is an offence.

- Temporary Residence Certificate (TRC) is issued to persons who have come from other states to the district for Business, govt. service, etc
Temporary Residential certificate shall be issued by the following state authorities as per the respective state norms :
- Tehsildar / Naib Tehsildar
- District Magistrate
- Sub Divisional Magistrate
- Sub Divisional Officer
- Revenue department authorities
