Apply In Person

1. A request for an Import Standardization Mark (ISM) Permit shall be made to the Kenya Bureau Standards (KEBS) Office. KEBS Regional Offices Contacts
2. Applicants will be required to complete the Import Standardization Mark - (ISM) Application form, freely issued at any of the regional KEBS offices, or downloadable via the KEBS website KEBS KEBS Mark of Quality, form is located under the“Import Standardization Mark of Quantity” section or use this link to directly download the form Import Standardization Mark - (ISM) Application form
3. Upon obtaining the form, accurately fill all fields and submit/forward the filled form in Excel format,with supporting documents as attachments to ism@kebs.org.for processing.
4. The Import Standardization Mark is issued free of charge.
5. Upon receipt of the application, the KEBS will process the ISM logo with the UCR number and send it to the applicant (trader) via email.
6. Once issued the importer shall affix the ISM logo only on certified products.

• All imported products intended for sale in the local market are required to obtain a KEBS-Import Standardization Mark (ISM) to certain that the consignment has been certified and meet the quality standards as set by the Kenya bureau of standards (KEBS) which is regulating body.
• A permit to use a Import Standardization Mark is issued to a firm to certify that a particular product conforms to requirements in a Standard.
