Apply In-Person:

1. To Apply for Alien Card (Foreign Nationals Certificate), the applicant has to approach the Department of Immigration Services link
2. To download the application form, the applicant has to use the following link link
3. The applicant has to click the “Apply Now” button.
4. Click the “Login using e-citizen service” to login process.
5. If the applicant is a new user, the applicant has to click the “Sign Up” option.
6. Enter the validate details and click the “Validate” button.
7. Complete the registration process and click the “Submit” button.
8. Now the applicant has to log in with the username and password and click the “Sign In” button.
9. The applicant has to select the application form and print from the link.
10. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
11. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
12. The applicant has to attach photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting it.
13. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
14. The applicant will be required to provide the applicant’s fingerprints to the designated officer for verification purposes.
15. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
16. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
17. An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference.
18. Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
19. The applicant might be required to provide biometric data, including fingerprints and a photograph, as part of the application process.
20. Depending on the type of application, the applicant might need to attend an interview at the Department of Immigration. This is to verify the information provided in his/her application.
21. Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
22. Once the application is approved, the applicant will receive his/her Alien Card. This card serves as official documentation of his/her legal residency in Kenya.
23. This entire process can be completed within 2 – 3 wees or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
