Apply Online
- To Apply Passport for Newborn (Baby), the applicant has to make the application online via link
- If the applicant is a new user, the applicant has to click the “Register (New User)” button.
- The applicant has to enter all the details for registration process with the captcha code and click the “Register” button.
- The applicant has to get an appointment by clicking a “Click here” option.
- Select the state and enter the captcha code and click the “Check Appointment Availability”
- The applicant has to check the details for visiting.
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference.
- Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
- Biometric data (photograph, thumbprint) of the baby may be collected at the center. Photos of the baby will also be taken.
- Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
- Once the passport is ready, the applicant will receive a notification. Visit the PSK/POPSK to collect the passport. Both parents or authorized representatives can collect the passport on behalf of the baby.
- This entire process can be completed within 15 - 30 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
Apply online (Indians living abroad)
- To Apply Passport for Newborn (Baby) for Indians living abroad, the applicant has to make the application online via link
- The applicant has to select the respective country.
- If the applicant is a new user, the applicant has to click the “Register”
- The applicant has to enter all the details for registration process with the captcha code and click the “Register” button.
- Now login with Login ID and password with the captcha code and click the “Login” button.
- Enter all the required details in the application form.
- Then the applicant has to download the form from by clicking “Print” button.
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.

Eligibility
To apply for a passport for a newborn baby, one will need to submit the following documents:
- A copy of the applicant's passport or other government-issued identification document.
- A copy of the baby's birth certificate.
- A recent passport-style photo of the baby.
