Minor Parents

The application for registration of birth of minor parents, must be made by both parents, the absence of one of them or in the case of a single mother, the entry shall be effected by it. In case of orphans or abandoned childs, registration may be done by the minor's ascendants (older siblings) or by the Attorney General's Office.

Minor Parents

• Birth certificate of the father must be presented in original and photocopy
• The father of the child must appear (grandfather Patern) with DPI in original and photocopy
• The Father of the minor must present ornamental ticket in original and photocopy
• Medical Report of Birth in original or photocopy

Single Mother

• Birth Certificate of the mother in original and photocopy
• Medical Report of Birth in original and photocopy or Midwife's report previously registered in the Civil Registry

• Single mother - the mother must be 14 years old or older

Registration of birth is a legal act to be formalized before the National Registry- RENAP -within sixty (60) days after the child's birth and may be registered in the place where the birth occurred or the place where the parents or persons exercising parental authority have established their residence.

A Birth Certificate states the name and sex of a person, it also indicate the time and place of birth, it is issued after you have registered the birth of a child and may be obtained from the civil registry office.
