Georgia - Replace Lost / Stolen Passport


Procedure

  1. Apply for a new one:
    1. Go to any branch of Public Service Development Agency or Public Service Hall and apply for a new one.
    2. You may be asked to present documents that you have submitted when you first apply for your passport.
    3. Pay the replacement fee.
  2. If you are outside Georgia:
    1. You must immediately inform the nearest Embassy of Georgia that you have lost your passport. You may use the link provided under "Office Locations & Contacts" section to get in touch with the nearest Embassy of Georgia in the country you are currently staying.
    2. The Embassy's consular service desk will process your request to obtain a new passport.





Required Documents

You may be asked to present these documents which you have submitted when you first apply for a passport. To know more, contact your local Public Service Development Agency or Public Service Hall:

  • Birth certificate (original);
  • ID card (original), if a person has turned 14 before the issuance of passport;
  • Consent of both parents to the issuance of passport (a form of consent is filled out at a branch of the Public Service Development Agency, Public Service Hall or a public notary bureau);
  • ID cards of both parents (original);
  • Receipt certifying the payment of service fee 50 GEL;
  • Two color biometric photos (photos may be taken in branches of the Public Service Development Agency or Public Service Hall for 3 GEL per set).

Eligibility

You may apply for a replacement passport in these following cases:

  • Unfit to be used because of damage, wear or loss.
  • Change of name or surname;
  • Inaccuracy in the data;
  • Use-up of pages intended for visas;
  • Expiry of validity term;




Fees

Validity

Adult passports is issued for the term of 10 years.

Passport to a person under 16 years of age is issued for the term of three years.

Passport to a person aged 16 18 is issued for the term of three years.
