Apply In-Person:

1. To Obtain Diplomatic identity (ID) Card, the applicant has to approach Ministry of Foreign Affairs Link
2. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the respective officer.
3. The applicant has to fill in all necessary details in the application form (Incomplete application are not accepted)
4. Make sure the applicant has all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form.
6. Submit the application form to the respective officer.
7. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as per the authority request.
8. After payment was is done, the authority will issue the ID card within the 30 days.

• A note verbal which states the name of the person his title detail of families -1 Copy
• 4cmx3cm photographs
• Valid passport with entry visa photocopy- 3 Copies
• For dependents aged 5 years above, copy of parent/guardian ID card 1 Copy
• Employment contract work agreement for International Organizations Staffs -1 Copy
• Duly filled application form -3 Copies

• The members of the Diplomatic Corps and International and Regional Organizations residing in the Ethiopia for more than one year are eligible to make this application.
