Apply In-Person:

1. Application for pattern approval of weighing and measuring in Ethiopia is available in the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Ethiopia contact link
2. Applicant must provide all information that is requested in the application form.
3. Applicant should carry photocopies and originals of all documents that are needed for the procedure to complete.
4. Documents which are required for the procedure are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Fee for this procedure has to be paid as per authority’s request.
6. If all the above-mentioned procedures were followed properly by the applicant, certificate of approval will be provided within 30 days.
7. Applicant can collect their certificate by visiting the office.
8. If the certificate is not issued within 30 days, applicant can reach out to the office to know status of their application.
9. The processing period may extend depending on the type of instrument that is registered by the applicant.

Any Individuals or Business owners who own a weighing and measuring instrument in Ethiopia are eligible.

Fee has to be paid as per authority’s request.

This certificate is valid for 5 years.

• Applicant should provide valid information while applying for this procedure.
• Applicant must follow all instructions of concerned authorities properly.
• Applicant can reach out to the office even if their application got rejected.
• Incomplete applications will be rejected by concerned authorities. So, applicant should make sure to complete their application form before submitting.
