1. To obtain a replacement passport you will need to go to your local civil registry office or if you are abroad to the nearest Chilean consulate.
2. Complete an application.
3. Submit the completed application together with your Chilean identity card and passport photos.
4. Pay the application fee.

• 2 or 4 passport-sized photos (4.5 x 4.5 cm), in black and white or color, with a white background (photos are requested in those Consulates where there are no data-reading machines).The photo must be a full-face front view in which the visa applicant is facing the camera directly.

Currently, passports are issued through the Machine-readable Data Capturing system of the Civil Registry. For this reason the delivery period varies since these are dispatched from Santiago to the Consulates.
