1. To obtain a replacement passport, applicants will need to appear in person at his/her local Bulgarian Identity Documents issuing office.
2. Applicants will need to complete an application form and submit it together with other supporting documents.
3. Pay the application fee.

If you are outside Bulgaria

1. For applicants outside Bulgaria, you will need to obtain Police Report for lost/stolen passport, issued by the authorised bodies of the foreign country.
2. Go to the nearest Embassy of Bulgaria and complete an application to obtain a replacement passport. You may use the link provided under "Office Locations & Contacts" to get in touch with the nearest Embassy of Bulgaria in the country you are currently staying.
3. Submit the completed application together with the certificate of loss and other required documents.
4. Pay the application fee.

In cases where the passport was lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed the passport holder must declare this fact within three days, and then apply for a new passport within 30 days.
