How to Apply:

1. You should contact the Ministry of Transport and Communications or Customs and Excise Officer at any of the border locations formore information on how to file the application.
2. Accurately fill in the application form,which can be obtained from the above offices.
3. In addition to the Transit Single (TS) Permitapplication Form, persons wishing to cross the border into Botswana using foreign-registered vehicles must also complete theConsignment Note Form,.Form
4. Submit the completed form (s) along with the required supporting documentation (as listed below)to theCustoms and Excise Officer at any of the border locationsfor verification and processing.
5. If the custom licensing office issatisfied that you have complied with the all conditions as set for the application of the permit, he or she will then issue you with Permit immediately upon payment of the required fees.

• Copy of the vehicle's registration document.
• Copy of vehicle's valid Road worthiness Certificate.
• Valid vehicle permit from country of origin
• Consignment Note (if applicable)

• Transit Single (TS) Permit is issued to those crossing into Botswana on single occasions by the border by the Department of Customs and Excise.
• Persons wishing to cross the border into Botswana using foreign-registered vehicles must also complete the Consignment Note Form (SACU 3), describing the origin, weight and destination of load being carried (for goods-carrying vehicles only)

• Transit Single (TS) Permit and Consignment Note are required by drivers with a foreign-registered vehicles wishing to transport goods, by crossing into Botswana on single occasions.
