Apply In Person:

1. Interested citizens and businesses are required to visit the nearest District Animal Production (DAP) Office in which the applicant desires to carry on his business with relevant supporting documents to obtain the Hides and Skins Buyer's License. 2. The applicant is issued the Hides and Skins Buyer's License Application form to complete, copies of this form are not available online.
3. Upon obtaining the appropriate application form, the applicant should legibly complete the form, attach all relevant supporting documentation as listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page and submit them for processing.
4. Upon receipt of the application file, the licensing officer will check for discrepancies or ineligibility in the application documents. If a discrepancy that cannot be immediately corrected exists in any of the documents, the application and all the submitted documents will be returned to the applicant and should not be re-submitted until the discrepancy has been rectified.
5. Where the licensing officer is satisfied that the applicant has provided him with all the required information, documentation and certifies that the applicant is a fit and proper person, he shall approve the issue of the license on payment of the BWP 100.00 license fee by the applicant.
6. The time frame for processing the license is within a day.
7. The hides and skin buyer Licenses expire on the 31st of December each year and it is renewable only on condition that one complies with the hides and skins export Act.

• Non-citizens need to have a valid Resident Permit.
• Registered company with Registrar of Companies for a Trading License
• Registered business (Companies/Hawkers/Vendors)
• Any other supporting documentation as requested by the Authority.

• No person shall in any region whether on his or her own account or on behalf of any other person engage in the trade of buying, cleaning, or preparing any green hides or green skins for the purpose of resale unless he or she is in possession of a buyers Licence issued to him or her for that purpose by the District Animal Production (DAP) licensing officer.
