Azerbaijan - Replace Lost / Stolen National Identity (ID) Card


Procedure

  1. Applicants who have lost their ID cards must give a written notice to the territorial police department regarding the lost of their identity card. They must indicate the place, time and condition on loss of identity card. Use the link provided under "Office Location and Contact Information" section to search for the address of the police station near your area.
    The citizen whose identity card is stolen must apply to territorial police departments for this crime and must give a reference confirming fact of theft to territorial police department. And then a new identity card is given to the citizen.
  2. Submit a request to obtain a replacement card.
  3. Applicants will need to submit 3 (three) colored photos in the size of 25x30 mm and present the receipt of the paid state duty.
  4. Submission of applications of citizens are executed at 10:00 -13:00 and 14:00 19:00 on 2nd , 3rd , 4th and 5th days of the week (except Sunday, Monday and holidays), at 10:00-13:00 on Saturday in the Registration and Identity Card office of Territorial Police Department.


Note: If the citizen who lost their identity card, eventually finds the lost one after obtaining a new one, he/she must give the lost ID card to the police department.

Fees

Duty for issuance or renewal of Identification card to citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan:

  • issuing within 10 days: 5 AZN
  • issuing within 3 working days: 25 AZN
  • issuing within 1 working day: 35 AZN


Note: The person who lost identity card must pay a fine in the amount of 30 AZN for loss of identity card




Validity

You must renew your ID card upon reaching the age of 25, 35, 50 years old.

  1. Identity Card given to a citizen under the age of 16.
