Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To register a Day Nursery in Zambia, the applicant will have to contact the Agricultural Research Institute of Zambia. Please tap on the following link to view contact details link.
2. Make sure to have all the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
3. An application form will be provided to the applicant at the Agricultural Research Institute. Find the form on page 12 of the following pdf file form.
4. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary information in the application form.
5. Once the application has been verified, it will be forwarded to the registrar for approval as per the Plant Pests and Diseases Act of Zambia.
6. An inspection will be held by the concerned authorities to check if the premises and other facilities are up to the standard or not.
7. Upon the satisfaction of the authorities, the applicant will be issued a provisional certificate.
8. Pay the fee as given in the “Fees” section of this page.
9. Collect the registration certificate from the office within a stipulated period of time.

• Copy of proof of ownership of premises or a copy of lease document (if premises are leased).
• Copy of tenancy agreement.
• Environmental Impact Assessment (Only applicable to newly built facilities).
• Copy of proof of payment for application and inspection.
• Proposed operational plan.

• A person or firm which intends to operate a day nursery.
• The applicant must be a bonafide resident of Zambia.

Fees

• Registration Fee is ZK 54,000,00.

Validity

• The document will be valid for 1 year.
