Zambia - Obtain Clearance for Motor Vehicles

Apply In-Person
- To apply for a motor vehicle clearance in Zambia, the applicant will have to contact the police service of Zambia, for the main office visit link.
- Make sure that you have all the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant should write a request letter explaining why clearance is being requested.
- The application form can be obtained from any nearest police station.
- Fill the application form provided to you after understanding the guidelines properly.
- Submit the completed application forms to the Central Investigation office at Police Service Headquarters for approval.
- All motor vehicles registered in any of the SADC countries before being exported to Zambia must have: Letter of Sale, Police Clearance (SARPCCO) and Registration Book from the country where it was registered.
- A physical inspection of motor vehicles by both Police and RTSA will be conducted.
- Pay as per the “Fees” section of this page and the payment is non-refundable once the application is processed.
- Upon the satisfaction of the authorities, a provisional certificate will be accessible.
- The certificate will be posted to the forwarding address as indicated by the applicants in the application in 5 days.
