Apply In-Person:

  • Applicant wishing to breed dogs for commercial gain should register themselves with the concerned State Animal Welfare Board – “Directorate Of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary” is the board concerned.


Clearance from local authorities

  1. Applicant should apply with the local authority (Local Planning, Civic and Health Authority regulations) to get license for the premises where the breeding establishment is proposed.
  2. Go to the local authority for your area.
  3. Obtain the application form or write on a A4 sheet as advised.
  4. Submit the completed application form along with required documents as mentioned in our required documents section.
  5. Authorities will check the application and attached documents. If all are in place, application will be accepted. Applicant will be asked to pay the prescribed fee.
  6. Applicant will be provided with an acknowledgement for the submission of application. Please keep it safe for future reference.
  7. This application will be processed internally.
  8. On a scheduled date a team of designated authorities will Inspect the premises.
  9. The Veterinary Surgeon of the breeder will forward a detailed inspection report of breeding establishment.
  10. Based on the outcome the license for the premises will be issued.
  11. This information will be shared or passed on to the respective board by the local authorities.


Registration process

  1. With license issued from the local authorities, applicant shall approach the respective board for registering.
  2. Applicant shall mail their application addressed to the secretary or the designated authority.

  4. Go to the respective office. Obtain the application form or write on an A4 sheet.
  5. Complete the application form. Attach required documents as per our required document section. Submit with required fees.
  6. Authorities will check the submitted application. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
  7. Applicant will get an acknowledgement for submission of application. Keep it safe for future reference.
  8. This application will be processed further.
  9. An inspector from AWBI may also inspect the premises, animals and records.
  10. Applicant gets notification from the department. Please follow the notification and guidelines from the department to get the registration certificate.


Note:
  1. A license from the Local Authority shall be a pre-requisite to the registration of the applicant with the Board.
  2. It is advised to submit another set of copy of the documents and get counter signed for your safety while applying with government department.
  3. Visit your nearest dog breeder in your area and consult with them for any latest update and requirements.



Apply through Centres:

  1. To apply through centres, the applicant has to approach the respective “CSC” centre in their area. Refer the following link for location: CSC Locator link
    • NOTE: The applicant has to select the state, district and block name from the drop-down menu, or the applicant has to click on their respective district to find nearby centres.
  2. Please visit the centre and consult with the centre operator for your requirement.
  3. If the operator issues an application form, then collect it and pay the requisite fee. Please complete the application form.
  4. Now, submit the completed application along with the required documents as per the “Required Documents” section of this page. It is advised to take the documents in original to the kiosk for scanning purposes.
  5. The operator will process the application online. On successful submission, the applicant will receive an application number as acknowledgement. The applicant will also get a transaction number as a text message on their registered mobile number.
  6. Applicant has to make necessary payment as centre operator quotes and don’t forget to take the receipt.
  7. This application will be forwarded to the respective department for further processing.
  8. ”SMS” triggered update on application status will be sent to the applicant’s mobile. Please keep track of the notification.
  9. The submitted application will be processed by the department. A designated authority will verify the submitted documents and inspect the area of the applicant to clarify the applicant’s details.
  10. Based on the outcome of the above-mentioned steps and other internal processing, the designated issuing authority will issue the certificate.
  11. The status, viz. Approval or Rejection will be conveyed to the applicant through an “SMS” or applicable norms.

  • A major (aged 18 or above)
  • Of Sound Mind
  • Not disqualified by law from entering into a contract


In case person refers to association/corporation/company, such association/corporation/company shall be duly registered with the law.
